There is a simple idea at the heart of Women in Mobile: you cannot be what you cannot see. When a young engineer looks at a conference line-up and sees no one who looks like her, the message, however unintended, is that this is not her space.
Gender equality in C-level positions is not only a women's issue. Diverse leadership teams make better decisions, build better products and reflect the people who actually use them. That is why visibility, putting women on stage, in the press and in decision-making rooms, is not a nice-to-have. It is a lever for changing the whole industry.
Since 2014 our community has worked to attract, retain and advance women in tech. Every talk given, every interview granted and every mentee who becomes a mentor widens the path for the next woman who follows.
